Meet the Founder: Sinmiloluwa Isabella Aboluwade
Sinmiloluwa Isabella Aboluwade founded Herbode on August 19, 2023, with a vision to create a safe haven for victims of domestic abuse. The name “Herbode” represents this mission—an abode where women, girls, and non-binary individuals can find refuge and support during difficult times.
Born in Ibadan, Nigeria, on August 3, 1999, and raised in Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos, Sinmiloluwa faced numerous challenges during her education due to financial constraints. These struggles fueled her passion for supporting the education of young girls and women in need. Having witnessed firsthand the lack of support for victims of domestic violence, Sinmiloluwa was determined to build a safe home and haven for those affected. This led to the founding of Herbode in 2023.
Since its inception, Herbode has made remarkable strides, including enrolling five girls in school and initiating plans for a full scholarship program. Herbode also provides mentorship and financial support to empower women, helping them become independent and heal from their past traumas.
